School Password Changes

For Staff:

Reach out to IT, and you'll be provided with a temporary password. Using the temporary password, you can choose your new password.

You do not need to provide a reason for a password reset; the only reason you need IT assistance is because of a Google Workspace limitation for domains with users under 18. You won't be interrogated, just applauded for password security.

For Students

Students can use SSO with Clever to access all their required educational services; no password required! If you have any questions, please email SmsTechDept@stmichael-streator.org. You can access Clever using the "Clever" button at the top of this page.

For PreK-3rd grade students, reach out to your teacher for login assistance. They have a secure portal where they can view and share your password. They're also able to regenerate and print new Clever badges.

For 4th-8th grade students, Reach out to your teacher or Mr. Brayden Matsko (BMatsko@stmichael-streator.org) for assistance in resetting your password. Teachers and staff never have access to your password but administrators do have access to the content within all of your school accounts.

What is a Secure Password?

Creating a secure password is essential for protecting your personal information and ensuring the safety of your accounts. Here are some tips to create a strong and secure password:

1. Length: Aim for at least 12 characters. The longer the password, the harder it is to crack.

2. Complexity: Use a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters (e.g., !, @, #, $).

3. Avoid Common Words: Do not use easily guessable words like "password," "123456," or your name.

4. Unpredictability: Create a password that is not easily guessable. Avoid using common phrases or sequences.

5. Unique Passwords: Use different passwords for different accounts. This way, if one password is compromised, your other accounts remain secure.

6. Password Managers: Consider using a password manager to generate and store complex passwords securely.

Example of a Secure Password: S!tM1ch@el$2024

By following these guidelines, you can significantly improve the security of your online accounts and personal data.
